Ryan Fazio Quietly Runs to National Republicans for MAGA Money
Fazio attended a closed-door RGA summit in Nashville with extreme GOP gubernatorial candidates and corporate special interests – without telling voters.
Ryan Fazio spent last week exactly where he apparently hoped Connecticut voters wouldn’t notice: behind closed doors at the Republican Governors Association’s Spring Policy Summit in Nashville.
Fazio himself did not advise reporters or advertise his attendance at the event, but he was listed as a confirmed attendee at the RGA gathering alongside Republican governors and candidates from across the country – the same national GOP network pushing abortion bans, cuts to health care, and giveaways to corporate special interests in state after state.
Fazio’s quiet trip to Nashville put him in the company of some of the most extreme national Republican Party’s gubernatorial candidates: election deniers like Andy Biggs and Tom Tiffany, anti-reproductive freedom hardliners like Marsha Blackburn and Darren Bailey, and Trump-backed MAGA loyalists like Byron Donalds and Stacy Garrity.
If Fazio was proud of his agenda in Nashville, he would tell Connecticut families who he met with, what promises he made, and which parts of the national GOP playbook he plans to bring back home.
“Ryan Fazio leapt at the chance to court MAGA money – he just didn’t want anyone to know about it,” said CT Dems Spokesperson Ian Clarke. “He kept this trip a secret because he knows exactly how it looks: a Connecticut candidate auditioning behind closed doors for special interests and the same MAGA crowd pushing an extreme Republican agenda across the country. If you want to know who Fazio is, look at the company he keeps: election deniers, abortion-ban extremists, Trump loyalists, and the national GOP donors looking for their next MAGA governor.”
