Fazio Fakes Democratic Support in New Ad

We’re two days into the general election and Ryan Fazio is already getting caught lying.

Fazio launched a 30-second ad yesterday highlighting purported Democrats who support him. Fazio posted the ad on social media framed with text reading: “I’m a Democrat and I’m voting for Ryan Fazio.”

The only problem? At least two of Ryan’s four “Democrats” are Republicans.

Both of the men who appear in Ryan’s ads are members of Republican Town Committees. Jim Connor is a longtime Republican who previously served on the Stratford Town Council, ran for Board of Education as a Republican last year, and was selected as a Republican convention delegate earlier this year. Darrell Harris, meanwhile, is Chair of the Easton Republican Town Committee and the 2026 Republican candidate for House District 135.

Statement from CT Dems Spokesperson Ian Clarke:

“Ryan Fazio is two days into the general election and he’s already faking bipartisan support. Apparently his message is resonating with so many Democrats that he had to recruit a Republican town chairman and a Republican candidate to play them on TV.”
