The state's five-year transportation capital plan programs more than $15 billion in improvements through 2030, including major investments in rail, bus rapid transit, bridges, and roadways. But the Trump administration has already shown it will use federal funding as a weapon. Connecticut Democrats will fight every attempt to politicize infrastructure money that Connecticut communities have earned and depend on.

Broadband access is infrastructure too. Affordable, high-speed internet must be available in every corner of Connecticut, not just be a benefit of living in a city. Access to the Internet is the baseline requirement for education, work, and full participation in civic life.

We built the roads and bridges that made Connecticut's economy possible. Now we need to build the transportation network that will carry us forward, whether that be on bikes, on foot, or on rail.
