Early Voting Information

Early Voting does not take place at Election Day poll locations. Instead, each city or town has one or two locations set up for Early Voting. In about 130 of our 169 municipalities, Early Voting is at City or Town Hall.

(The final list of 2026 early voting locations will be published close to the election, and that link will be updated. We expect that few, if any, early voting locations will change in 2026.)

August 11 Primary Early Voting

The Early Voting period for the 2026 primary is August 3 to August 9, 2026. Vote at your town's early voting location from 10 am to 6 pm daily. There are extended hours from to 8 am to 8 pm on Tuesday, August 4th and Thursday, August 6th. Most cities and towns will not have Democratic primaries. Check to see if your town does.

November 3rd Election Early Voting

The Early Voting period is October 19th to November 1st. Vote at your town's early voting location from 10 am to 6 pm daily. There are extended hours from to 8 am to 8 pm on Tuesday, October 27th and Thursday, October 29th.

No-Excuse Absentee Balloting

CT voters no longer need an excuse to vote using an absentee ballot. You may request an absentee ballot and return it any time before polls close on Election Day. You can request an absentee ballot online if you have a CT driver's license or non-driver ID. If you don't have a CT ID, you can complete a paper form to request your absentee ballot.
