Your CT Democratic Weekly Update

Dear Friend,

As we get ready for the Florida primary, we reflect a little on Mitt Romney’s very bad week. Also, stay tuned for 2012 delegate information! Welcome to this week’s edition of the Connecticut Connection!

Mitt Romney’s Very Bad Week

His eight-vote Iowa win turned into a 34-vote Iowa loss. He came under fire for his refusal to release his tax records, his investments in the Cayman Islands and the revelation he pays less in taxes than many hardworking American families. He floundered during a debate as polls showed his support fading and Newt Gingrich surging in South Carolina – a precursor to his loss in the South Carolina primary on Saturday night.

After six years of running for president, the more voters learn about Mitt Romney, the less they like him. They are seeing a candidate with no core values, who believes that he’s entitled to play by a different set of rules, who will say anything to get elected and is out of touch with working and middle-class Americans.

Regardless of whether Republicans nominate Romney or Gingrich, all the GOP candidates have the same goal in mind: They want to return to the same failed ideas that created the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression.

November’s election will be a choice about who will restore the values that made America great and the economic security the middle class has lost over the last few decades – and the clear choice is President Obama.
