What a Night

Thanks to everyone who helped make Election Day an overwhelming success for Democrats. The thousands of volunteers across the state who knocked on doors called Democrats to remind them to vote really made the difference in a lot of races. We can’t thank you enough.

Tuesday was a great night. Democrats won in the most highly-contested races in the state, beating Republican incumbents in Waterbury, Middletown, Southbury, Burlington and  Old Lyme. We won Republican-held seats in New Britain, Milford, Newington, New London and Chester. We won control of Manchester as well. And all the while, Democrats held on to tough seats in towns like Bethel, Weston and Fairfield.

Some of these were big cities. Some were small towns. Some were suburbs, some were Democratic towns and others were traditional Republican strongholds. It didn’t matter. Democrats were successful across the state because once again the voters rejected a Republican Party that knows how to do nothing but say "no."

Thanks again to all of you who were involved in electing Democrats!
